Travel information

The Maritime Mountain race takes place in Le Bouveret, Switzerland at the César Ritz Colleges.  Please ensure your team arrives for Friday 26th June 2026 between 13:00-16:00 at the César Ritz Colleges.  It is each team members responsibility to ensure they have the necessary travel documentation to enter Switzerland.

Travel Insurance and Running Insurance

Each team member must have travel insurance (for Foreigners) or Insurance Card (for Swiss Residence).

Running insurance is a legal requirement in Switzerland.  Our Course Team recommend  ITRA Runners Insurance for €49

Travel options to Le Bouveret

Train

We recommend using the train for your journey to the event and César Ritz.  Trains run from Geneva Airport to Le Bouveret train station, which is a 6 minute walk to reach the hotel.

For a smooth journey we recommend purchasing train tickets on the SBB website or mobile app.  The App provides helpful tracking of your train against it’s journey, showing each station/stop.  It also shows station maps and the route between platforms for any transfers between trains.

• Trains run frequently from Geneva Airport (station: Genève Aéroport) to Le Bouveret (station Bouveret)
• Most trains to Le Bouveret from Geneva require a transfer.  Depending on the train you choose it could be one (1) transfer at St Maurice; or two (2) transfers, firstly at Montreux and then Villeneuve VD.
• Depending on the train you choose, train journey can be 1h 58mins up to 2h 41 mins
