The UK P&I Club

Tarja Saikkonen, Sean Lima and Alex Milne have been volunteered on behalf of the UK P&I Club to take part in the Maritime Mountain Race 2026 in Switzerland this June. The concept is simple, three people from the maritime world voluntarily walk/run across Swiss mountains and try not to become a cautionary tale. We’re doing it to raise funds for The Mission to Seafarers, who provide vital welfare support to seafarers and their families worldwide. Every donation goes directly towards helping the people who keep global trade moving, often in tough and isolated conditions. The profession is not only one of the most dangerous ones, but criminalisation of seafarers is also alarmingly commonplace. If you’re able to sponsor us, we’d be hugely grateful. In return, we promise: • to attempt “training” (with mixed results) • to send proof of life, of those who made it alive, after the hills have finished negotiating with our legs.
